About Mateo Morelos Bedolla
Mateo Morelos Bedolla served California’s Ninth Congressional District as a legislative and in-district staffer. He managed legislative correspondence, assisted securing money, benefits, and military medals for constituents, and communicated how to navigate the federal bureaucracy. For civil service with the U.S. House of Representatives, Cal State East Bay Alumni Association awarded Bedolla the inaugural 40 Under 40 Award. Previously, he worked as a carpenter, a construction laborer, and a cofounder for Guardian Systems Inc. His father is a carpenter foreman, his mother is a kindergarten teacher and member of Tracy Educators Association, and his grandfather was a foreman, member of Laborers Union Local 304, and a former Bracero. He learned to work hard, commit to the community that helped raise him, and help others harness skills to build their own way. Born in Oakland, Mateo Morelos Bedolla is a graduate of local public schools (South/West Park Elementary, Earle E. Williams Middle School, and Tracy High School) and worked his way through college to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Cal State East Bay.
